Use a Champion
Posted: 04/07/25
Being entirely self-sufficient is tiring. It is even more so when your self-sufficiency levels might already be a little lower. So ask for help.
Promote a close friend or family member to the position of champion and bring them along on your adventures. Explain any health concerns/requirements to them and work on a contingency plan together.
PA Ticket
Most venues offer a PA Ticket – for a personal assistant. Transform yourself into an Z list celeb for the day and cinemas, theatres, and music arenas offer you a free ticket so that a personal assistant can accompany you.
Call the venue’s disabled access line, or large organisations accept the Access Card. Ask if they offer PA Tickets.
CEA Card
For cinemas, they offer a CEA Card – an annual £5 card that gives you a free ticket for an accompanying adult.
