Financial Problems

I know exactly where you're coming from George! Have you tried CAB? If you take all your debts in to them they might be able to help. There are lots of charities you can apply to for support too.
Did you get the Macmillan grant? And there's a website called Turn to us... I think it's called... that gives you a long list of all the organisations that can help? x

Sorry to hear this George. My income has taken a massive hit since diagnosis too.
Who did you speak to at Macmillan? I find the regional advisers are not as helpful as the ones you call on the main line. My regional chap gave me totally inaccurate information costing me thousands! However, when I then spoke to someone at the main number, they bent over backwards to help and gave me so much helpful info.
Turn2us is really useful too, I agree. I was introduced to a teachers' support network which helps teachers, maybe there's a similar organisation for your profession?
Hello,
I finished cancer treatment a year or so ago but still facing massive financial problems. I haven't been able to return to both my old jobs, only one of them, because the evening job I had before was too much.
I still haven't recovered financially from all the time I was off work for treatment and I can't see how I'm going to get out of my current situation. I'm in nearly 10k worth of debt. We're getting the mortgage paid thankfully, but I'm just not make any headway on the rest of the debt. It's actually getting worse.
Trying to protect the kids from the situation and trying to carry on as normal and I don't show my wife the full credit card bills as I don't want to worry her.
Tried contacting Macmillan and they gave me some leaflets. Does anyone have any other ideas?
