The Role:

We're looking for a fundraising trustee who will support us to develop a fundraising strategy and help us to secure our future and improve the lives of those facing cancer.

As a trustee of Mission Remission, you'll be part of a dedicated team passionate about cancer recovery. As our projects are currently mostly run voluntarily, we’d love your help to take the next step in growing our activities.

Key Areas of Support:

We'd love to work with you to develop the role, which may cover activities such as:

• Identifying sources and developing relationships of sponsorship, partnership and other potential development opportunities.
• Assisting with the assessment of the cost benefit ratio of each planned type of fundraising.
• Networking on behalf of the charity to seek support and funds
• Assisting with the writing, submission and review of fundraising applications.
• Overseeing fundraising and to make sure it is carried out in legal, honest and accountable ways.
• Contributing knowledge of fundraising techniques and strategies and understanding results.
• As a trustee, overseeing Mission Remission's accounts and ensuring the charity continues to support people in the best way we can.

Skills and Qualities:

We're looking for someone just as passionate as we are, who is/has:

• 2-4 hours to spare a week, on average.
• An understanding of the charity sector and the business challenges and opportunities therein.
• Income-generation experience.
• Confident networker, able to identify and build good working relationships with potential patrons, sponsors and partners.
• Strategic planning skills.
• An understanding of responsible and accountable fundraising.
• Experience of successful bid development and fundraising.
• Available to attend meetings online once a month.

Mission Remission is the only UK charity solely dedicated to supporting cancer survivors. Through our digital platform, we’ve created a community helping tens of thousands of people share positive stories and practical strategies. With the help of our volunteer clinicians and mental health specialists, we support survivors move forward with their lives.

In the four years we’ve been running, we’ve reached hundreds of thousands of people. Over 80% of survivors say we’ve helped their wellbeing and our stories and strategies have been voted helpful over 20,000 times.

We also run our ‘Something’s Not Right’ campaign which calls for system and health policy change to ensure people are treated quickly.

We're looking to grow our small trustee team and are now searching for a fundraising specialist to join us to help more people feel happy, healthy, and independent after cancer. If this might be you, please get in touch!
