Come join our Cancer Survivors’ Book Club – a space for book chat, escapism, and taking small steps towards the ‘new normal’ of life beyond cancer.
We meet online every quarter to discuss a chosen book. Some reads may touch on themes of life after cancer, but most won’t. The aim is connection, conversation and a moment of breathing space.

Books can help us process life and make sense of our experiences – whether they offer pure escape or help us explore what life looks like after treatment.
Led by Nicola, our brilliant Book Club host, it’s a welcoming place for cancer survivors to meet. You might want to discuss the chosen book, share your current reads, or offer suggestions to others. All reading habits and all voices are welcome.

About Nicola
Hi, I’m Nicola and I host the meetings of the Cancer Survivors Book Club. I had primary breast cancer in 2016, a mastectomy, reconstructive surgery and hormone treatment. I embrace life in all its complexity and joy, from my day job as a director in the NHS, to walking my dog in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. I am also a leadership coach, volunteer at breast reconstruction awareness evenings, help organise the local LGBTQ+ Pride and am a local Trustee for a women’s refuge charity. I have been known to take too much on! But I love it all.
I enjoy running, completed my first marathon recently and am passionate about the importance of strength training as we age. I try to be a good wife to the lovely Lorraine, and the best Mum I can be to my two teenage boys. And books… well books have always been my escape. I read voraciously and love to share my passion with others, hearing their experience of reading a book, and picking up tips for my next read.
